Wood essences

Very often we look for the naturalness and the warmth of wood to enhance the elegance of  environments; this way the frame itself becomes, day by day, an actual feature of design. The steel structure becomes a body shell to be dressed simply with the preferred species of solid wood.

Rose-wood, bamboo, whitened durmast, fir, walnut are just a few of the several essences available, to be chosen not just for the aesthetical result but also on the basis of their peculiarities. Some are better used for external finishing than others, just to give an example. The use of wood finishing improves sensibly the thermal and acoustic insulation, it might take a pre-defined shape or it can be customized by design and it is also possible to adapt the corner coating at 45 or 90 degrees.

With this technique the problems caused by an entirely wooden frame – such as the need for systematic maintenance or the mechanical sagging of the hardware with the consequent need for adjustment – are overcome, to give room to the stability, safety and long lasting functionality guaranteed by steel. If a conservative maintenance of the wood finishing should become necessary, or when accidentally damaged, the coating is replaced easily and in a practical way, with no need to uninstall the whole frame.
